Richard Cyril Rembe, 48, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at his home.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Lutheran Church. The Rev Tom Lo Van will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Richard was born Oct. 14, 1967, in Sioux City, the son of James and Lorna (Hageman) Rembe. He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. He graduated from East High in 1986 and was very active in sports. He was a member of the 1984 State Champion football team at East High. Richard attended Morningside College and played baseball. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, health, fitness, and etc.
Richard married Shelly Robinson in 1988; they divorced in 2011. He was currently in a relationship with Janet Barber who was the love of his life. He was the owner of Richard Rembe Construction and Snow Removal. He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jamee (Tavey) Sprenger of Sioux City, and Julea Rembe and her fiance, Trevor Watchorn of Moville, Iowa; his grandson, Traeyton Michael Richard Sprenger; his sisters and brother, Lisa Rembe of Sioux City, Sandy (Kit) Curry of Oregon, Dee Cameron of Sergeant Bluff, James Rembe Jr. of Missouri, and Lori Rembe of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Steve; and his sister, Debbie.
