Richard "Rick" "R.J." Martin, 51, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 7, 2007.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Rick was born May 13, 1956, in Sioux City, the son of Lyle and Rosemary (Donahue) Martin. He was raised and attended school in Sioux City. He graduated from East High School in 1974. He moved to Omaha in 1978 and had resided there ever since. He spent his whole life in the medical profession.
He enjoyed walking his dog, Jake, traveling, working out, sports, the outdoor life, social gatherings, being artistically inclined and his work career.
Survivors include a brother, John Martin of Burlington, Iowa; his sisters, Mary Browning of Sioux City, Terry and Mike Harder of Sergeant Bluff and Naomi Martin of Sioux City; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
