Richard Adelbert Scott Sr.

SIOUX CITY -- Richard A. Scott Sr., 56, of Sioux City passed away May 5, 2011, at a local hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel C. Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Richard was born Aug. 15, 1954, in Sioux City, to Seth and Cecelia (Campbell) Scott. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City East High School. He was a lifelong Siouxland resident.

He married Mary Menard in 1973 in Sioux City. They later divorced. To this union, five children were born. Richard was employed with Chesterman in the service department for 18 years and also at Wilson Trailer for a few years.

He enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, riding his motorcycle, his tattoos, hunting, his dog Zena, being an artist and wrestling. He will always be remembered as a loving and kind-natured individual, who also dearly loved his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include four daughters, Melissa and Mike Schmeling of Dakota Dunes, S.D., Angie and Corey Zautke of Sioux City, Annette and Chrissy McCalmont of Sioux City, and Nicole Scott-Cabney and Nicole Winters of Omaha; a son, Ricky & Deanna Scott Jr. of Sioux City; 18 grandchildren; his mother, Cecelia Scott of Sioux City; two sisters, Debra and Kent Larson of Moville, Iowa, and Linda and Pat Rourick of St. Ansger, Iowa; and two nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his father.
