SIOUX CITY -- Rick L. Huber, 57, of Sioux City passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at the V.A. Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Wolff officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Rick was born on July 9, 1954, in Dewitt, Iowa, to Donald and Sylvia (Poole) Huber. He attended school at Northscott High School in Eldridge, Iowa. He later attended Sioux City Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974. He was a self-employed contractor and had lived in various places in the United States. He returned to the Sioux City area in 1991.
Rick enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting, football, music and spending time with his family.
Survivors include four children, Lisa and Tom Coleman of Bryan, Texas, Randy and Tony Huber, both of Denver, Colo., and Jamie Huber of Lincoln, Neb.; five grandchildren; his mother, Sylvia Huber of Sioux City; three sisters, Linda and Roger Waldrop of Marengo, Iowa, Kathy Huber and Jerry Nelson of Sioux City, and Vicki Schwedler of Sioux City; a brother, Ronald Huber of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two sisters, Barbara Blake and Christine Thompson.
