Rick Darrell Solomon, age 63, of Sioux City died Saturday December 4, 2021 at a local hospital.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday December 9, 2021 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux City, Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service held at 7:00 p.m. at Christy Smith Morningside Chapel.
Rick was born in Sioux City, Iowa on February 26,1958, the son of Darwin and Emaline (Monk) Solomon. He attended Westfield Community Schools and graduated with the class of 1977.
He owned and operated Rick’s Gas Station at West 7th and Hamilton for a few years before working at Gateway Computers, he then began working at Team Ford continuing to work there until his health failed. He was always tinkering in his garage, was known as a real wheeler dealer. Rick loved to converse with everyone he met, and never met a stranger.
His life will always be remembered by his significant other, Darla Green; his parents, Darwin and Emaline of Sioux City; and his sons, Jarrod and his wife, Briget of Sioux City and Jacob and his wife, Siobhan of Sioux City. He is also survived by his two grandchildren; brother, Randy Solomon and his wife, Kathy of Sioux City; his sister, Cheryl Gamble and her husband, Don of Sioux City; along with several nieces, nephews, and his companion, Valentino.
Rick was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
