Rita Ann Timblin, 57, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following complication from cancer.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Al Weiss officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Christy-Smith Larkin Northside Chapel.
Rita was born Nov. 4, 1950, in Norfolk, Neb., the daughter of Lawrence and Mildred L. (Kohl) Stoffer. She was raised in Norfolk, where she graduated from Norfolk High School in 1969. She attended Norfolk Junior College.
He married Larry Strube on May 8, 1971, in Norfolk. She married Jeff D. Timblin on Aug. 23, 1993, in Sioux City.
She lived in Norfolk until 1979, when she moved to Sioux City. She was employed with a car dealership for 20 years. In Sioux City, she worked for Crown Lincoln Mercury Dealership for 12 years. She then went to work as a legal secretary for the Rhinehart and Associates law firm. At the time of her death, she was working for the Harold Widdison law firm.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed camping. She was a supporter of West High School basketball and University of Nebraska football.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff D. of Sioux City; her son, Jeff S. Strube of Brighton, Colo.; her ex-husband, Larry Strube of Brighton, Colo.; her brothers, Rick Stoffer of Norfolk, and Ross Stoffer and his wife, Maggie of Norfolk; her father-in-law, Terry Timblin of Sioux City; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Timblin, Mark Meylor, Kyle Meylor, Robin Paul, Virgil Paltz and Jim Carlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Nikki Stoffer, Leigh Stoffer and Andy Timblin.
