Sioux City - Robert Anthony, 85, of Sioux City passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at Prime Living Assisted Living.
Memorial Services will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Mayflower Congregational Church. Arrangements are under directions of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Robert was born on April 20, 1928, in Omaha.
He was united in marriage to Marilyn Wallen on Sept. 21, 1973, in Sioux City. Robert worked for Swift & Co. and later at John Morrell.
After their honeymoon, they developed a love for traveling and visited almost every state. Robert was a member of the Shriners and enjoyed fishing and camping. He was very handy and was talented at construction and wood working. He had added an addition on to the family home. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Eric Anthony (Susan Johnston) of Sioux City, Melissa Anthony of Centennial, Colo., Mary, Nick, and Rena; sister, Lucille Orr; brother, Vern Jr. Armstrong; sister, Lorena Aquilara; sister, Marcella Sargent; and sister, Charlotte Goben.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; and siblings, Elvira Ypina, Timuel Ochoa, and Macedonia.
Memorials may be made to the family.
