SIOUX CITY -- Robert Wayne Brown, 58, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center--Sioux City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Wolff officiating. A potluck will follow at Riverside Park. Online condolences may be sent at

Bob was born July 14, 1952, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Robert and Florence (Ehst) Brown. He graduated from high school in Torrance, Calif. Bob continued his education and received a certificate in setting. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1971 and served in Okinawa. He was honorably discharged in 1975.
Bob married Barbara and together they made their home in Sioux City. He later married Kim LaFave Duet and continued living in Sioux City.
Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator at Siouxland Sand and Gravel and later for Jomac.
Bob enjoyed a good joke and played pranks on friends and family. He bought and made remote-control boats, planes and rockets, and attended aviation shows. Bob liked riding his motorcycle, being outdoors, camping and having tea parties and playing Barbies with his granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Duet of Sioux City; a son, William Brown of Utah; two daughters, Amy LaFave of Bellevue, Neb., and Debbie LaFave of Sioux City; a stepson, Jerome Duet of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Sheri Duet of Sioux City; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Debbie Tomes of Arizona; and a brother and his wife, Jimmy and Kathy Brown of Lancaster, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Brown; his mother, Florence Brown; and a daughter, Kristina.
