Robert "Dale" MacMillan, 57, of Sioux City died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at his residence.

Dale was born Jan. 6, 1951, in Casper, Wyo., the son of William Robert and Virginia (Boyer) MacMillan. His mother later married George Bornholtz and she and Dale moved to Sioux City. He attended school at North Junior and graduated from Central High School in 1969. He exhibited considerable talent on the basketball court and was on the starting basketball team in Casper. He also was a starting guard at Central High School. He continued his education at the University of Iowa.
He was married and to that union two sons were born. He worked at the family business while in Iowa City, Iowa.
Survivors include his mother, Virginia Bornholtz of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, John and Karen MacMillan of Davis, Calif., and Jeff and Amber MacMillan of Iowa City, Iowa; and three grandsons, Zachary, Ethan and Peyton.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father; and stepfather.
