SERGEANT BLUFF -- Robert B. Frahm, 76, of Mapleton, Iowa, formerly of Sergeant Bluff, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, in McAllen, Texas.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Community United Methodist Church in Sergeant Bluff, with Pastor Deborah Stowers officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to

Robert was born June 29, 1931, at Sergeant Bluff, the son of Busch and Florence (Clark) Frahm. He was raised in Sergeant Bluff and attended school there.
Robert married Verda Tullis on Dec. 27, 1962, at Merrill, Iowa. Together they made their home near Hinton, Iowa, for one year before they bought a farm near Smithland, Iowa. They farmed at Smithland for 17 years before moving to the family farm near Sergeant Bluff in 1981. In 2006, they moved to Mapleton.
He was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Sergeant Bluff. He was also a member of the Eagles. Robert enjoyed traveling to Texas in the winters, polka dancing to the old-time music and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Verda Frahm of Mapleton; three sons and their wives, Paul and Shelly Frahm of Smithland, Iowa, Delvin and Ann Chamberlain of Houston, Texas, and Dennis and Melba Chamberlain of Havelock, N.C.; two daughters and their husbands, Dianna and Terry Mills of Portsmouth, Va., and Dawn and David Drees of Danbury, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a half brother, John Clark; and a sister, Doris Patten.
