Robert L. Gunsolly

Robert L. Boyd Gunsolly, 71, of Sioux City, passed away July 14th, 2018, at a local hospital in Sioux City, IA.
A funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, July 20, 2018, at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Morningside, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am that morning. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Robert was born February 3rd, 1947, in Sioux City, IA to Harry Robert Boyd and Martha Madonna Rowe. At the age of 5, Robert was adopted by Leon Edward Gunsolly. He attended Heelan High School and excelled at football and track where he earned the nickname “Speedy” which stuck with him until his death. He graduated with the class of 1966.
Robert is survived by his special companion, Raeann; his three sons, Ermilo and Jamie Duque of Oklahoma, Tramain and Tina Gunsolly of Omaha, NE, and Tatum Gunsolly of Coralville, IA; 11 grandchildren; and siblings, Dennis and Annette Gunsolly of Omaha, NE, Bruce Gunsolly of Sioux City, IA, and Victoria Smith of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Jamie Duque; a son, Trad; and a brother, Brent.
