Robert Barney Hasler

Robert (Rob) B. Hasler Sr., 70, of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Westwood Nursing Home, with family by his side, after a lengthy battle with heart disease.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave.). Visitation will be held one hour prior.

Robert Barney Hasler was born July 30, 1954, in Sioux City, Baptized of Catholic Faith, the son of Robert T. Hasler and Sharon J (Hewitt) Hasler. He attended Woodrow Wilson and Central High School. He grew up alongside his siblings, Carla, Steven, and Timothy.

Rob drove trucks for several trucking companies in the Siouxland area. He enjoyed riding his Harley, drinking RC Cola, listening to oldies Rock & Roll music, and watching old western movies. Rob enjoyed drawing and was a free hand artist.

Survivors include his three children, Robert Hasler Jr. (Mandi), Melinda Hasler (Les), Marci Henshaw (Todd) of Sioux City; grandchildren, Emma Hasler, Erika Berg, (Tim), Sean Murren, J Miles Willer, Cameron, Dawson, and Chance Blanchard, and Brooklyn Henshaw; three great-grandchildren;  a goddaughter, Renee Hasler; a sister, Carla (Tim) Rubel; brothers, Steve (Gina) Hasler and Tim (Teri) Hasler; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family as well as many friends, who were more like family; and bonus daughter, Holly Spence.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol Hasler; daughter, Sarrah Hasler; nephew, Jamy Hasler; and a brother in-law, Dennis DeKok.
