SIOUX CITY -- Robert "Bob" Linscott, 72, of Sioux City died Friday, June 5, 2009, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Janice Bennett officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Bob was born on June 14, 1936 in Sioux City, the son of LeRoy and Ila Mae (Wills) Linscott. He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1954.
He married Rosemary Williams in 1955; they later divorced. He married Sandra (Burkhart) Chapman on Feb. 11, 1967 in Sioux City. Bob worked in construction and then worked in retail sales at Roberts Dairy. He was the district supervisor for the Hiland Potato Chip Co. and was the warehouse supervisor for Rosenthal Foods. He worked in the mailroom at the Sioux City Journal for 20 years and retired in 1991.
Bob was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage and won the Cribbage League in 2002. Bob was a man who always enjoyed a good joke. What he loved most was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Sioux City; a daughter, Debbie Lucas of Dacono, Colo.; a daughter, Susan Gardner of Oregon; a son, Rick Linscott of Dacono, Colo.; a son, Scott Chapman of Omaha; and a daughter, Lisa Frink and her fiance, Jay Oellien of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Heather, Hillary, Conner, Rikki Jo, Jennifer and Lana; a great-grandchild, Bruce; two sisters and their husbands, Janice and Fred Bailey of Bellevue, Wash., and Joyce and Doug Bentley of Sioux City; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Oregon and her husband, Guy of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Clinton Blair; an infant brother, Jerry Linscott; a grandson, Todd Roepke; and a son-in-law, Bruce Lucas.
