Robert Charles Nash, 70, of Sioux City passed away peacefully Thursday, May 28, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
A private memorial graveside service will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Larry Adler officiating. Christy Smith Morningside Chapel is handling the arrangements.
Robert was born on Oct. 16, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo., to Robert M. and Loretta (Gamblin) Nash. He moved to Platte, S.D., before coming to Sioux City at the age of 17. Robert graduated from Central High School in 1962.
He was united in marriage to Sherry Wilcox on April 23, 1966 in Sioux City. He was employed as a machinist at Sioux Tools from 1966 until they closed in 2002. After that, he worked for Gateway in computer assembly, then transferred to security with Gateway until his health failed and he retired.
Robert was the president of the IAM Local 1426 Machinists Union. He was an avid hunter, softball player and umpire. He loved music, vintage cars, and was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.
