Robert Joseph O'Donnell

Robert J. “Bob” O’Donnell, 90, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away June 14, 2022 at a local care center.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, with visitation one hour prior.

Bob was born September 17, 1931, in Centerville, South Dakota, the son of William P. and Lula (Burnett) O’Donnell. The family moved to Sioux City when he was ten years old. He attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Trinity High School in 1949.

Bob married JoAnn Dunn on April 11, 1953, in Salix, Iowa. They had one daughter and two sons.
Bob was a master upholsterer and worked with several furniture stores in Sioux City. He continued to reupholster furniture until he was 86 years old. In 1966, Bob was employed by Terra Chemical Company until he retired in 1996.

Bob enjoyed playing cards with family and friend. He loved fishing, hunting, berry picking for black raspberries, traveling and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his children, Pam (Jim) Brown of Bemidji, MN, Richard (Tami) O’Donnell of Bellevue, NE, and Ronald (Karen) O’Donnell of Sergeant Bluff, IA; grandchildren, Erin (Paul) Oelrich of Savage, MN, Michael (Kelsey) O’Donnell of Omaha, NE, Alicia (EJ) O’Donnell-Lines of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kelsey (Yen Hung Lai) O’Donnell of Taiwan, Megan (Graham Brunning) O’Donnell of Coralville, IA. Bob had seven great grandchildren, Kennedy, Lilliana, Madelyn, Aiden, Grayson, Elowen, and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoAnn, of 54 years; grandson, Ryan O’Donnell; and siblings, Richard, William, Eileen, and Mary Lou.
