Robert P. Sullivan, 91, of Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Countryside Retirement Center in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Erpelding will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a rosary at 6 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Robert was born on Aug. 21, 1923, in Meadow Grove, Neb., the son of Mert Sullivan and Abbie Bennett Sullivan. He lived most of his life in Sioux City. He was employed as a truck driver by Sioux City Transportation for 25 years and retired in 1982.
Bob was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Teamsters Retirement Group. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Sioux City. Bob was known for the devoted care he gave his parents and other family members.
He is survived by one sister, Kay Neswick of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold, Dan, Leo and Darrell; and two sisters, Jean Johnson and Betty Gaffey.
A memorial has been established in his name for St. Joseph Catholic Church.
