SIOUX CITY -- Robert Kennedy Sylvester, 41, of Sioux City died Friday, May 14, 2010, at his home following a brief illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a vigil service at 6:30 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Robert was born Aug. 10, 1968, in Sioux City, the son of Donald and Marlys (Thorn) Sylvester. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School in 1987. Robert worked for MCI and Alorica.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed fishing and playing golf, and he loved spending time with his nephew and nieces.
He is survived by his mother, Marlys of Sioux City; two brothers, Timothy Sylvester and Barbara Meister of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Michael Sylvester of Yankton, S.D.; two nieces, Kayla and Lyndsay; his nephew, Andrew; and several aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Matt Aronson, Pat Amundson, Mark Lennon, Jim Tobin, Tim Sylvester and Mike Sylvester.
