Ronald C. Anderson, 90, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Morningside Presbyterian Church. The Rev. David Koehler will officiate. Graveside services will be Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a Masonic service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Ron was born on Feb. 13, 1925, in Sioux City, the son of Emma V. Anderson. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1943. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served in the Sea Bee's for three years. After he got out of the service he attended Iowa State University.
On Sept. 21, 1947, he married Elaine Walters in Sioux City. He worked at W.A. Klinger Construction Company for 40 years as a construction superintendent.
Ron was a member of the Morningside Masonic Lodge 615, the Abu Bekr Shrine, The Scottish Rite and was a 33rd Degree Mason. Ron was also a member of the Carpenter's Union 948 for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Sioux City; a son, Todd S. Anderson of Pikeville, N.C.; and a daughter, Mollie Zimmerman of Lafayette, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
