SIOUX CITY -- Ronald E. Holdgrafer, 44, of Sioux City died July 10, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Larkin Northside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Patrick O'Kane of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa, officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Salix. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Ronald was born Aug. 13, 1966, in Fallon, Nev., the son of Ronald Holdgrafer and Margaret J. "Peggy" Robinson. He was raised in the Salix and Sloan, Iowa, area. He graduated from Westwood High School in Sloan and attended Briar Cliff University. He was employed as a computer operator at Gateway Computer Co.
He married Melissa M. Graves in Sioux City.
He collected guns and knives. He enjoyed sports, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and making people laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa M. of Sioux City; a daughter, Tamra Ray Holdgrafer of Le Mars, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Tianna Elaine McCulloch of Sioux City; two brothers, Tom and Brandi Malloy of Iowa, and Kevin Malloy of Illinois; three sisters, Betsey and Dave Doberstein of Wisconsin, Rhonda and Danny Quiroz of Texas, and Tina and Don Swanson of Nebraska; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Ping of Sioux City; his in-laws, Danny and Michelle Graves; sister and brother-in-law, Lacy and Ryan Friis; mother-in-law, Karen Craig; special friends, Bruce Streeter, Joe Comstock and Bob Warrick; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Thomas M. and Margaret J. Malloy; a brother, Russell J. Malloy; his paternal grandmother, Joyce Bresler; his paternal grandfather, John Thomas Malloy; and his maternal grandfather, George Ping.
