SIOUX CITY -- Ronald Neil Boe, 73, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Larkin officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to

Ronald was born July 21, 1936, in Sioux City, the son of Maynard "Curly" and Loretta (Johnson) Boe. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from East High School. Ron enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a 3rd class petty officer. He continued his education at Cameron University in Oklahoma. Ron worked as an air traffic controller at Sioux Gateway Airport for 30 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a devoted son and caregiver to his mother, Loretta. Ron enjoyed golf, had a great appreciation for automobiles and had a special knack with animals of all kinds.
Survivors include his mother, Loretta Boe, and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curly and an aunt, Velma Seymore.
