Ronald James Rathman, 69, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at a local hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Private family graveside services will be in Schaller Cemetery , Schaller , Iowa . Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today from at the funeral home.
Ronald was born on Aug. 23, 1944 , in Bloomfield , Neb. , to Herman G. and Dora M. (Leuenhagen) Rathman. He graduated from Central High School in 1964.
He was united in marriage to Kay Hartgenbush on May 24, 1982 in Sioux City . Ronald was employed at AG Processing for 28 years and retired in 2007.
He enjoyed hunting, gun collecting, traveling, camping, and going to antique stores with his wife.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Kay of Sioux City; two stepsons, Robert and William Zediker, both of Sioux City; daughter, Melissa Rathman; brother, Jerry Rathman of Sergeant Bluff; five grandchildren, Keith (Bobbi) Zediker, Anna (Kyle) Fisher, Craig (Alyssa) Zediker, Mary Zediker, and Adam Zediker; and many cousins and aunts.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and cousin, Ed.
