Sioux City - Rosalie Virginia Luse, 53, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Courage Homes.
Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa. Private graveside services will be in Arlington Cemetery, Moville.
Rosalie was born on April 17, 1961, in Sioux City, the youngest of four children to Wayne and Virginia Luse of Moville. She lived at home for years and then moved to Anthon, Iowa, to live with several other special-needs children in the home of Amanda Beers. Later, Rosalie moved to Climbing Hill, Iowa, to live with many intellectually disabled children in the home of Lila Wulf. Rosalie loved her time with the other children in both homes and benefited from the tremendous love given to her by both women and their families. As an adult, Rosalie moved to Courage Homes and lived there ever since with many good friends and a fabulous staff.
Those left to honor her memory include her brother, Bill Luse of Minneapolis; her sister, Cynthia Luse-McKeen (Doug McKeen) of Chicago, Ill.; and a niece, Hanna (Doug) Bartels; and a nephew, Jordan McKeen.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Virginia Luse; and a brother, James Luse.
The family would like to thank Courage Homes and Mid-Step Services for all of the friendship and wonderful care of Rosalie over the past 29 years.
Those who wish to remember Rosalie may consider supporting Mid-Step Services, a non-profit agency that assists individuals with a range of intellectual disabilities to work, play, learn and live to their highest potential.
