Rose Marie Dickinson, 73, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at her residence.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Rose was born May 5, 1941, in Sioux City, to Edward and Helen (Lubanski) Smith. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1959. In 1961, she married Larry Dickinson in Richmond, Va.
Rose adored her children and grandchildren and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a very caring and loving sister. She loved antiquing, taking care of others, and was an avid gardener who loved to learn how to tend to her plants. Rose spent the majority of her life being a stay-at-home mom and taking care of her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Deb DeBoer; sons, Dave (Judy) Dickinson, Don Dickinson and Dennis Dickinson and Juli Groen; grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Hogue, Megan Dickinson, Sarah Richardson, Ryan and Amber Dickinson, and Curtis Smith; great-grandsons, Mason Hogue and Jett Saxon; sisters, Mary Germann, Sue Erdkamp, Terri Kjar, Lucy Kersting, Dee Smith, Maggie Hurwitz, Ellie Lane and Liz Castillo; brothers, Jim Smith, Mike Smith, Collins Birmingham and Bill Smith; and many, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Dickinson; and brothers, Joe and Frank Smith.
