SIOUX CITY -- Rozella E. "Kitty" Dalke, 83, of Sioux City died Feb. 19, 2011, at Whispering Creek Assisted Living.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at The Church of the Nativity, with the Rev. Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to

Rozella "Kitty" Dalke was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Hartford, S.D., the daughter of Michael and Lulu (Price) Gillen. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1945, then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. She was employed at Sioux Falls Air Base, then in the offices of John Morrell and Co.
She married Clarence J. "Jack" Dalke on Sept. 23, 1947, at St. George's Catholic Church in Hartford. Jack died on Feb. 27, 2009, in Sergeant Bluff.
Kitty was a member of Church of the Nativity. She enjoyed playing cards. She was an avid bowler, bowling in many women's leagues and mixed leagues. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Kitty is survived by two sons and their wives, Tom and Dolores Dalke of Sioux City and Bill and Kim Dalke of Sergeant Bluff; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Angie and Jason Bates, Billy Dalke, Brent and Beth Dalke, Brian, Chelon and Wade Dalke, and Cory Hicks; and three great-grandchildren, David and Wyatt Bates and Michael Dalke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert Dalke; two brothers; and three sisters.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Hospice of Siouxland and the Whispering Creek Assisted Living facility for all the care and love that they gave to Kitty.
