Ruby Louise Wilson

January 22, 1915 — December 25, 2015

Ruby L. Wilson, 100, of Lawton passed away on Dec. 25, 2015, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa.
Ruby was born on Jan. 22, 1915, in Lawton, to Adlai and Louise (Grigg) Plumer. Ruby graduated from Lawton High School.
Ruby married Art B. Wilson on Sept. 17, 1933. They farmed near Lawton until Art passed in 1996. Ruby cooked and made meals for the thrashers and farm hands and also raised chickens and sold the eggs.
She was an active member of the Eastern Star, and Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, where she played the piano and organ for many years. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending their activities. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and had a special gift and real ability when it came to music.
Survivors include her daughters, Joan (Mike) Brink of Arvada, Colo., and Mary Lou (Jim) Anderson of Lawton; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art; a daughter, Jean Edwards; and a brother, Ferd Plumer
