SIOUX CITY -- Ruth R. Johnson, 96, of Sioux City passed away Oct. 26, 2010, at a local nursing home of natural causes.
Services will be 11 .am. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dave Koehler of Morningside Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Ruth was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Kansas City, Kan., to Harry and Effie (Harper) Fletcher. She grew up and attended school in the Kansas City area. She moved to Sioux City in 1934 and had been a resident here ever since. She was employed with Younker's for 29 and half years.
She married Lynn Perrin on Oct. 7, 1939. He later passed away on Jan. 9, 1953. She later married Byron Johnson on Jan. 22, 1961. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1986.
She was a member of the Morningside Presbyterian Church and involved in many of the church activities. She was involved with the Order of the Eastern Star Iris Chapter and the White Shrine. She liked going to family events.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Esther Johnson of Sioux City; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents, two sisters and a brother.
