SIOUX CITY -- Sandra Rae Jacobsen, 75, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at her home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Church of All Nations, with Pastor Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Sandra was born May 1, 1936, in South Sioux City, the daughter of John C. and Nellie Inez (Peterson) Frey. She was raised in South Sioux City and attended South Sioux City schools.
On Dec. 28, 1951, she married Fred D. Jacobsen in Homer, Neb. She lived all her life in the Sioux City area.
She was a manager at the Goodwill Industries for 14 years and retired in 2001. Sandra was a member of Church of All Nations. She enjoyed doing crafts, camping, the outdoors and square dancing. She played several musical instruments by ear. She was small and mighty, and she always strived to be the best she could be.
Survivors include her five children, Gary Jacobsen and his friend Sandy Looney of Carrolton, Mo., Deborah and Mike Bauman, Joey and Tom Briggs, Gene and Paula Jacobsen, and Diane Jacobsen and friend Randy Nelson, all of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister and husband, Pat and David Dryden of Las Cruses, N.M.; her brother-in-law, Robert Phillips; and a sister-in-law, Kathryn Frey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-grandchild, Tanner; two brothers, John and Glen Frey; and a sister, Naomi Phillips.
