Jefferson, S.D. - Sandra Kay Johnson, 68, of Jefferson died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital

Sandra was born on Jan. 31, 1944, in Rock Island, Ill., the daughter of Theodore and Dolores (Engle) Clark. She was raised in Lowden, Iowa.
She met Donald G. Johnson, and they were married on July 18, 1963. The couple moved to McCook Lake, S.D., where they lived for 38 years. In 1986 they bought a farm in the Jefferson area and have lived there since.
Sandra was member of the Lutheran faith. She was a wonderful painter and enjoyed cooking and sewing. She loved her garden, especially her roses. The most important part of Sandra's life was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Jefferson; four children, Bruce of Oklahoma, Mike of Wichita, Kan., Jason of Jefferson, and Kimmberlina Ann Sampson of Jefferson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her mother, Dolores Clark of Wheatland, Iowa; a sister, Marcella Kreusch of Wheatland; brother, Gerald and Debra Clark of Wheatland; her Aunt, Cheryl Engle of Aledo, Ill.; four nephews; and two great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Johnson and her father.
