Sara Judith Mahan (Scott)

August 17, 1941 — May 8, 2008

S. Judy (Scott) Mahan, loving wife, mother and sister, 66, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 8, 2008, in Sioux City. Judy has passed over to the loving arms of her Savior, her suffering is over and those of us who loved her will always have her in our hearts.

Sara Judy Scott was born Aug. 17, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Francis and Arline (Lande) Scott. The family moved to Sioux City in 1955, and she graduated from East High School in 1959.

Judy married Billy E. Mahan on June 7, 1959, in Sioux City. Together they made their home in California until Bill's honorary discharge from the military in 1967, when they moved back to Sioux City.

Judy enjoyed doing craft projects, crocheting, sewing and playing bingo.

Survivors include three sons, Wes and Sue Mahan, Mike Mahan and Rusty Mahan, all of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Kura Mahan of Sioux City; a grandson, Josh Mahan of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Karen Mahan of Sioux City; a sister, Darlene and Sid Barnes of Panama City, Fla.; and two brothers, Carl and Betsy Scott of Liscomb, Iowa, and Roger and Pat Scott of The Villages, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Mahan; and her parents, Arline and Francis Scott.

A special thanks to her daily caregivers, her sister-in-law, Karen Mahan; and her three sons, Wes, Rusty and Mike.
