Sioux City - Scott Richard Lambert, 46, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital from injuries and complications received as a result of an automobile accident.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tim Bonney officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Dow City Cemetery, Dow City, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Scott was born on July 23, 1966, in Beatrice, Neb., the son of Winfred "Jack" and Audrey (Petersen) Lambert. He came to Sioux City at the age of 10 and graduated from East High School in 1985. He was active in sports throughout all of his school years. He later studied at Wayne State College. Scott worked in the transportation industry most of his adult life, starting as a driver and working his way up through sales to upper management.
The most important part of Scott’s life was spending time with his boys, Jeremy and Austin Lambert, whether it was attending one of their sporting events and cheering them on or just spending quality time together. Scott knew no stranger and had a multitude of faithful friends and acquaintances. He loved life and lived his life to the fullest. He made sure to brighten everyone's day with his smile, contagious laugh, and boisterous sense of humor. He enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends.
He enjoyed playing and watching all sports, including softball, baseball, football, basketball. He loved boating, water sports and golfing. He was a devoted Nebraska Cornhuskers fan.
He is survived by his two sons, Jeremy Scott Lambert of Schaller, Iowa, and Austin Richard Lambert of Dakota City; his parents, Jack and Audrey Lambert of Sioux City; his sister and her husband, Penny and James Lewis of Sioux City; three nieces, Sasha Frasier, Kali and Carley Lewis; one nephew, Jasper Lewis; two grandnieces, Sierra and Sheridan Frasier; and one grandnephew, Warren Lewis.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
