SIOUX CITY -- Shannon Allen Desy, 36, of Sioux City died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Shannon was born July 30, 1973, in Iowa City, Iowa. He lived in Louisiana and Iowa as a child. He also lived in Texas for many years. He returned to Sioux City in 2003. He graduated from East High School in Sioux City.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and was an avid fan of his brother's fighting career (Chuck's next fight is dedicated to his brother, Shannon). What he loved most was spending time with his children, nieces and nephews.
He is survived by two sons, Tyler of Des Moines and Brandon of Sioux City; his mother, Patricia Parmelee of Sioux City; his father, Marlin Desy of Sioux City; four brothers, Nathan (Tonya) Parmelee of Sioux City, Chuck (Rachel) Parmelee of Sioux City, Rodney Parmelee of Sarasota, Fla., and Paul Desy of Sioux City; three sisters, Patricia (Ben) Dawson of Springfield, Mo., Connie Parmelee-Terrigues (Megiell) of Sioux City and Amy Desy of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandparents, Vernon and Virginia Parmelee of Sioux City; special nephews and nieces, Brodie and Elizabeth Parmelee, Tyler, Jacee, Lindsey and Noah Parmelee, Ismeal, Abraham and Brianna Dawson, Megiell, Tony and Louis Terrigues; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his three dogs, Tigger, Kota and Chico.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Abraham Parmelee and Matt Desy; dad, Lawrence Plummer; grandparents, Alfred and Martha Desy; and two aunts, Paige Parmelee and Pamela Parmelee.
