Sharon K. Hansel, 73, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Sharon was born on Oct. 1, 1943, in Bloomfield, Neb., to Vaughn and Helen (Lowin) Hadley. She grew up in Bloomfield and then moved to Sioux City.
She was united in marriage to Mike Hansel in 1960. they later separated but remained loving friends. Sharon worked at Morningside McDonald's and Floyd Golf Course for many years.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and enjoyed bowling, bingo, gambling, going to Las Vegas, and her pet cats. She loved spending time with her family and cooking for them.
Those left to honor her memory include Mike Hansel and Christine Jansen of Sioux City; her daughters, Carrie (Scott) Beckwith of Sergeant Bluff, and Becky (Skip) Jones of Sioux City; grandchildren, Adam (Dawn) Beckwith, and Michael Jones; and great-grandchildren, Austin Prokop, Zephyr Beckwith, Kaesyn Whitead, Easton Jones, and Morrison Beckwith.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Todd Hansel; brother, James Hadley; and grandson, Christopher Jones.
