SIOUX CITY -- Sharon A. Jepsen, 73, of Sioux City passed away Dec. 7, 2010, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Ind.
A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Mark McGlohon officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Sharon was born June 17, 1937, in Onawa, Iowa, to Joseph and Elizabeth "Betty" (Bower) Walling. She graduated from Onawa High School in 1955. She attended National Business Training in 1957 in Sioux City. She had been a resident of Sioux City ever since.
Sharon was married to Robert Sorensen on March 25, 1958, in Onawa. She later married Ron Jepsen on Dec. 5, 2004, in Sioux City. She was employed with the U.S. Postal Service until 2005, when she retired as postmaster.
She enjoyed time spent with family, her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Jepsen of Sioux City; two children, Shane Sorensen of Vail, Colo., and Joan Sorensen of Vail; two stepchildren, Brian and Nui Jepsen of Sioux City, and Jeff and Shelli Jepsen of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Hannah and Heidi Sorensen of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ella Jepsen and Cal Jepsen of Sioux City; and a sister, Eva and Bob Britton of Muncie, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather; and a sister.
