Sharon Louise Johnson (Deming)

Sharon Louise Johnson, 68, of Sioux City died Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Sioux City.

Services will be 7 p.m. today at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with Neal L. Peck, C.L.S. officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.christysmith.com .

Sharon was born Feb. 13, 1940, in Sioux City, the daughter of Howard and Edith (Miller) Deming. She grew up and attended school in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School in 1958. She continued her education and attended WIT Nursing.

Sharon married Robert L. Johnson on April 26, 1958, at Elk Point, S.D. Over the years, Sharon worked at the 20th Place, KFC, Perkins and was owner/operator of the El Bon Club. Robert died June 17, 2005.

She was a member of Mayflower United Church of Christ, Abu Bekr Wreckettes and a past member of the Eastern Star. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and following the Shriners.

Survivors include a son, Scott Johnson of White City, Kan.; daughters, Lori Johnson and friend, Chris Rich of Hinton, Iowa, Jana and Doug Niebaum of Sioux City, and Debra Johnson and friend, Misty Browne of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Ashella Johnson; a grandson, Jacob Swenson; a sister, JoAnn Deming of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Betty Mae Deming of Elk Point; two brothers-in-law, Jim and Alice Johnson of Sioux City, and Bill and Donna Johnson of Ashton, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Karen Vermilyea of Slayton, Minn.; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert Lee Johnson; and a brother, Donald Deming.
