Sherry Lee Hockom (Trotter)

Sioux City - Sherry L. Hockom, 65, of Sioux City died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Johnny Helton officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Sherry was born April 19, 1947 in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Darlene (Blue) Trotter. She attended school in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School. Sherry continued her education at Morningside College. Sherry moved to Colorado for several years, where she worked as an administrative assistant at Parkside Lodge in Denver, Colo. She returned to Sioux City in 1986.
Sherry loved spending time with her family. The yearly fall parties were some of her favorites. She also enjoyed going for rides in the car.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn and Bob Peters of Sioux City; her son, Douglas Jr. and Wendy Hockom of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Bill Trotter and Diane Miller, Dana and Patsy Clemmons, Mike Trotter, Brian Trotter and Dan Trotter; sisters, Patty Trudell, Laurie Trotter and Kathy Tobin; and her stepmother, Elaine "Bonnie" Trotter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; sister, Shirley Trotter; and nephew, Jamie Trotter.
