Shirley Mae Hair, 70, of Sioux City died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Gillett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent online to

Shirley was born March 4, 1937, in Smithland, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford and Bernice (Nelson) Struble. She lived in the Smithland area until moving to Sioux City at the age of 15.
She married Francis Hair on Nov. 7, 1959, in Luverne, Minn. He passed away July 22, 1999, in Sioux City. She had worked as a clerical assistant for Lutheran Social Services of Iowa . She had also worked at Wal-Mart, retiring in 1999. After retiring, she became a Senior Help Mate and enjoyed meeting many people and visiting with them.
She loved fishing, boating, camping and spending time with all of her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra Jennings and her friend, Bob Webber of Lake Placid, Fla., Susan and Mike Schlumbaum of Sioux City and Diana Rowden of Van Buren, Ark.; three sons, Leslie and Mary Ann Hair of Wakefield, Neb., Rick and Rita Lalumendre of Sioux City and David and Rose Hair of Sioux City; a son-in-law, Tracy Costa of Parker, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Jeff and Kristen Lalumendre, Nicole and Travis Gill, Christopher Knapp, Courtney Lalumendre and her fiance, Trent Bollig, Brian Rowden, Charity Rowden, Kimberly and James Bryson and Christine and Brian Juarez; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, LeRoy and Phyllis Struble of Smithland, Iowa, and Dick and Fern Struble of Ankeny, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Cindy Costa; and a brother, Martin Struble.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
