Shirley M. (Ng) Kulvik, 73, died Friday, September 9, 2022, at Unity Point-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.
A visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel, 2320 Outer Drive North. A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Christy-Smith, Larkin.
Shirley Ng, the daughter of Shar Folk and Elizabeth (Sharpback) Ng was born February 22, 1949, in Sioux City, IA. She graduated from high school in Marty, SD, and went on to graduate from AVTI in Thief Falls, MN with an Accounting degree.
On June 1, 1991, Shirley was united in marriage with Hubert Kulvik, Jr. The couple lived in Sioux City, moved to Thief River, and then returned to Sioux City. Shirley retired from Argosy Casino after 20 years of employment in 2014.
Shirley enjoyed her expansive TV and movie collections. Her favorite shows were Supernatural and Charmed. Shirley’s greatest passion, however, was spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Hubert Kulvik Jr.; sons, Darrell Sams, Daniel Sams, and Michael Sams; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Patricia (Wayne) Albert; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shar and Elizabeth, and a sister, Violet Kulvik.
