SIOUX CITY -- Shirley Wood of Sioux City passed away on March 13, 2011, at Countryside Nursing Home.
Abiding by her wishes, she has been cremated. There will be a memorial service at a later date in Aberdeen, S.D.
Shirley moved from Rice Lake, Wis. to Aberdeen, S.D. upon her marriage to Ervin G. Wood in 1984. They were both active in First Presbyterian Church, the Senior Center, The National POW Organization and the Farmers Union Travel Club. Shirley and Ervin enjoyed traveling throughout the United States including Alaska, Canada and Europe.
Shirley and Ervin moved to Sioux City in 2001 and were residents of Northern Hills Assisted Living. Mr. Wood passed away in October of 2001.
She is survived by her stepson, Gary G. (Mary Kay) Wood of Sioux City; her four stepgrandsons, Rob Bohan of Sioux City, Bryan (Lora) Bohan, Brad (Patty) Bohan of Huntsville, Ala., and Garrett (Jennifer) Wood of St. Charles, Mo.; and nine great-stepgrandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Shirley.
