NORTH SIOUX CITY -- Stella May Green, 80, of North Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 5206 Military Road.
Stella May Green was born Feb. 25, 1930, at McCook Lake, S.D., the daughter of Clarence and Jeanette (Girard) Frye. She attended school at McCook Lake.
Stella married Harry Green on Sept. 17, 1949. She worked as a cook at Truck Haven Cafe and later at McCook Schools. Stella also worked at the dog track during that time. Harry died May 4, 2006.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Stella loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, collecting dolls and playing bingo, marbles and UNO.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda and Leon Bartz of Osmond, Neb., and Kerry Olson of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her dog, Molly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; and three brothers, Orville, Richard and Larry.
