Stephanie Bates, 24, of Sioux City passed away Sept. 5, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sunnybrook Community Church, with the Rev. B.J. Van Kalsbeek officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Stephanie was born on Oct. 5, 1990, in Sioux City, to Duane Bates. Stephanie loved to sing and dance, and spend time with her children. She also enjoyed family events, fishing and swimming with her girls, hanging out with her friends and her dad, and having debates with her grandpa Bates.
Steph was always a giving and loving person which she exemplified by donating her organs to save others.
Survivors include her parents, Duane and Connie Bates; children, Gabriella Marie Bates, Nevaeh Mae Brown, and Aireanna Joan Thomas; her significant other, Terry Thomas; her grandparents, LeRoy and Joan Bates; her sister, Lynzie (Nathan) Mellies; and brothers, Andrew Chavez and Cory and Cody Bates.
