SIOUX CITY -- Steven Denis Schuldt, 54, of Sioux City passed away Aug. 12, 2011, at Courage Homes in Sioux City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Russell Senstad officiating. Burial will be in Westfork Cemetery, Climbing Hill, Iowa. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Steven was born to Joe and Wilma (Mitchell) Schuldt in Sioux City, on Jan. 9, 1957. He was stricken with encephalitis at six months of age and lived at home with his family near Climbing Hill, until he was admitted to Tommy Dale Home for Special Children in Sioux City. At the age of 21, he was moved to Hillside in Glenwood, Iowa. When Courage Homes opened in Sioux City, he moved there, where he presently resided.
Steven was a very lovable person and enjoyed watching TV and videos.
He is survived by his mother, Wilma Schuldt of Sioux City; brothers, James (Sharleen) of Elk Point, S.D., Donne (Marian) of Sioux City, and Robert (Paula) of Peoria, Ariz.; sister, Carol (Doug) Fitchner of Le Mars, Iowa; nephews and nieces, Michael (Joy) Schuldt and family, Melissa Schuldt, Deana (Derick) Heeren and family, Wade Schuldt, Leigh Schuldt, Jeff Schuldt and Mark Fitchner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Schuldt.
