Teresa S. Klemmensen, 81, of Sioux City passed away at home with family by her side following a brief illness.
A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 17 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 5010 Military Rd., Sioux City, Iowa with Father Timothy Friedrichsen officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Parish Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. Internment will be Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa. Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Teresa was born March 25, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jose M. and Maclovia (Rodriguez) Sanchez. Teresa graduated from San Antonio High School then went to SE State University at Durant, Oklahoma where she received her degree in Elementary Education.
Teresa married Virgil Klemmensen on October 30, 1965, at St. Agnes Church in San Antonio, Texas. The couple then moved to Sioux City, Iowa where they raised three children: Lisa, Debbie and Scott. Teresa worked at Mercy Hospital in Admissions for 18 years before retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 57 years. Teresa enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil Klemmensen of Sioux City, IA; 2 daughters, Lisa & Tim Mathison of Jefferson, SD and Debbie & Shawn Holler of Jefferson, SD; son, Scott & Michelle Klemmensen of Sloan, IA; 7 Grandchildren, Lea, Travis, Alisha, Briley, Nikole, Austin, and Brandon; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Bea Smith of Antonio, TX and Elva Sanchez of San Antonio, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Sanchez; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Smith.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund.
