Teresa Rojas, 88, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at a local nursing home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Morningside Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Teresa was born on April 20, 1928, in Douglas, Ariz., to Francisco and Maria (Encinas) Moreno. Teresa lived in San Pedro De La Cueva, Mexico, and in Sioux City since she was 19 years old.
She was united in marriage to Henry "Harry" Rojas in October 1947 in Douglas.
She attended Morningside Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, cooking, baking, dancing, singing, drawing and coloring. Teresa, a loving mother and grandmother, loved spending time with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Gloria Rojas of Sioux City, Veronica Brackett of Sioux City, Henry Rojas of Sioux City, Frank (Linda) Rojas of Omaha, Patricia (Joel) Krueger of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rosalie (Doug) Pinney of Sioux City, and David (Trista) Rojas of Panama City Beach, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Aurora of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Socorro Moreno of Hermosillo, Sonora, and Elvira Alvarez of Sioux City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son; granddaughter, Natalie Rojas; sister, Celina; and brother, Ignacio.
