Bronson, Iowa - Terry J. Amick, 50, of Bronson, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Creek Presbyterian Church in Bronson, with the Rev. Cyndy Ripperger of Elliott Creek Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Paul Johnston of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Township Cemetery in Bronson. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy–Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City.
Terry was born April 18, 1962, in Sioux City, the son of Harley and Florence (Buckland) Amick. He grew up in Bronson and attended Lawton-Bronson schools. He remained a lifelong resident of the Bronson area.
He married his soulmate, Tammy Spanke, on May 28, 1988, at Grandview Park in Sioux City.
Terry was the business owner of Pro Clean Mobile Wash Service LLC from 1990 until the present. In 2004 he started T&A Truck Wash LLC with his brother Andy and was currently co-owner.
He was a member of Elliott Creek Presbyterian Church in Bronson.
Terry enjoyed family, boating with family, fishing and hunting. He loved kids. He was known as the favorite uncle and a very humble man. He enjoyed motorcycle rides with his son and nephews, spending special moments with his daughter and entertaining. He is the guy who never told anybody no. He will be remembered for his phrase, "Love/love."
Survivors include his wife, Tammy of Bronson; two children, Hallie Amick of Des Moines and Spenser Amick of Bronson; siblings, David (Lynnelle) Amick of Bronson, Jeanie (Dan) Main of Sioux City, Randy Amick of Bronson, Lois (Dean) Magnussen of Dubois, Wyo., Bill Amick (partner Jim Sorvaag) of Sioux City and Andy Amick of Sioux City; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; a brother-in-law, Matt (Monica) Spanke of Omaha; a sister-in-law, Pam (nee Kiser) (Mark) Deyoung of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and his in-laws, Harry and Priscilla Spanke of Lakewood, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Allen and Rick Amick; and a brother-in-law, Marty Kiser.
