SERGEANT BLUFF -- Terry L. Kroeger, 68, of Sergeant Bluff died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital from complications due to lung cancer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Lidderdale, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Terry was born Sept. 6, 1943, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Louis and Helen (Fleshner) Kroeger.
He married Mary Maxine Hoff on Jan. 29, 1966, in Carroll. They made their home in Fort Dodge, Iowa, for a short time before moving to Sioux City. They lived in the Sioux City area for 40 years, where Terry held leadership positions at Associates Finance and Pioneer Bank. He was also a Realtor for Pioneer Realty the last 20 years of his successful career.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going to their family cabin in Okoboji, Iowa, and spending recent winters in Arizona.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Maxine; three sons, Michael Kroeger of Carroll, Troy Kroeger and Jessyca VanderCoy of Omaha, and Matthew and Steffany Kroeger of Iowa City, Iowa; a daughter, Tonya and Al Blum of Wall Lake, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, Jessica and Breanna, Gabriel, Kate and Jillian Kroeger, Morgan, Madison, Maxwell, Macy and Mckenna Blum, Jackson and Grace Vandercoy; a brother, Bruce and Mickey Kroeger of Fremont, Neb.; and his mother-in-law, Billie Hoff of Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ronald, Myron and Randy Kroeger; and his father-in-law, Henry Hoff.
