SIOUX CITY | Terry W. Wilson, 74, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ryan Christiansen officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
Terry was born in Sioux City on April 7, 1938, to Donald and Lillian (Dunn) Wilson. He grew up and attended Sioux City Schools.
Terry was married to Connie Lemay on April 23, 1960, and Lori Lyles in 1979. Terry worked at Hoak Motors in the body shop, and Johnson Temperature Control. He later started Wilson Temp and worked until his retirement in the 1990s. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33. From 2007 to 2009, he was the greens mower at Covington Golf Course in South Sioux City, and from 2009 to 2010, he drove for Coach America and the BNSF Railroad.
Terry loved to build golf clubs and did stock car racing with the Cole family. His hobbies included snowmobiling, boating, golfing was his love, and vacation travels. He was the practical joker at work and loved time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his two sons, Jay Wilson of Sioux City, and Neil and Amber Wilson of Waterbury, Neb.; three grandchildren, Brittany, Gavin, and James; a brother, Ray and Florence Wilson of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
