Theodore Thomas Ketchelos, 87, of Sioux City passed away May 7, 2013 at his residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Theodore was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Sioux City to Thomas and Andromachi (Kocalles) Ketchelos. He married Polyxeni Michailidou on Jan. 27, 1957 in Piraeus, Greece. He was employed at various factories in Chicago.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He was an avid walker, and enjoyed the outdoors, the ocean, traveling and especially spending time with his family and grandkids.
Survivors include his sons, Ted Ketchelos of Phoenix, Ariz., Thomas Ketchelos of Sioux City, and Orfeas Ketchelos of Sioux City; his daughters, Olga Ketchelos of Piraeus, Greece, and Kornelia Ketchelos of Sioux City; a sister, Bessie Klimiades of Sioux City; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander, Polyxeni, Elizabeth, Daniel, Marcus, Amanda, Orfeas Jr., Demetrius, Oteka, Michael, Lilleeye, Anna and Katarina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Polyxeni, and a sister, Panagiota.
