Theodore J. "Ted" Voss, of Sioux City, passed away Oct. 16, 2016, at his residence.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Ted was born on July 29, 1931, in Nacora, Neb., to Louis and Lucille (Eaton) Voss.
Ted married Pearl Hinken and they were married 30 years. He graduated in the top one percent at the Los Angeles Police Academy, where he served as an officer, a job he dearly loved. The couple returned to Nebraska, where he was employed at MidAmerican Energy and retired in 1986.
Ted enjoyed golfing, walking, playing pool, treasure hunting, and traveling. He had a wonderful relationship with Dottie Abbott, her children and grandchildren for 32 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Rochelle (Jim) Lundy, Wendy (Trent) Wright, and Amber Gregg; grandchildren, Brandi Reed, Tyler and Tristan Lundy, Holly Saldivar, Bobby Schlueter, Robert Schrunk, and Rielly Gregg; and great-grandchildren, Chasity and Christopher Case, and Cruz and Eva Saldivar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harold and Francis Voss.
