Theresa M. "Terri" Payne (Besch)

Theresa M. "Terri" Payne, 67, of Sioux City died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a rosary at 6:15 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Larkin Chapel. Theresa was born Oct. 21, 1940, in rural Merrill, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Lois (Bauerly) Besch. She moved to Sioux City as a child. She attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Heelan High School in 1959. She attended beauty school in Sioux City and worked at the Younker-Martin's Beauty Shop. After she left Younker's, she operated a chair in her home.
She married Herbert Payne on May 18, 1973, in Sergeant Bluff.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed doing all types of crafts, cooking, gardening, camping and fishing. She loved the outdoors and watching sports on E.S.P.N. She also enjoyed playing games with her family. One of the things she did most was to worry about the needs of others. The thing that she loved most was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Herb, of Sioux City; four daughters, Angelina and Henry Montoya of Los Lunas, N.M., Anna Oleson of Onawa, Iowa, Mary Polly and Justin Hubert of Homer, Neb., and Christine and Bradley Petersen of Cumberland, Iowa; her father, Herman Besch of Sioux City; eight grandchildren, Catherine and Jorge, Jeremy and Casey, Christopher, Erika, Lance, Charles, Alexandria and Jakob; three great-grandchildren, Jorge Jr., Elena and Tanner; a sister, Rita Davidson of Sioux City; and countless nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Oleson, Christopher Polly, Joe Hieb, Bill Hieb, Andy Schoenewe, Gary Jensen, Mike Jensen and Jeff Kilzer. Honorary pallbearers will be Heral Jensen, Jim Adkins and her younger grandsons.
