Therese Marie Bauer

Therese M. Bauer, 59, passed away on March 3, 2024, at a local hospital.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel (2320 Outer Drive North), with a visitation taking place one hour prior. Online condolences may be offered at www.christysmith.com. 

Therese “Tressie” Marie Bauer was born on July 6, 1964, to parents Charles and Alice (Bartunek) Bauer in Sioux City, Iowa. Tressie grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Community Schools until her graduation. 

Tressie enjoyed her time working. She participated in Special Olympics and was very proud of the numerous medals and ribbons she won. In her spare time, Tressie enjoyed listening to country music – her favorite artist was Martina McBride – dancing, TV guides, puzzles, games, and gambling, especially slot machines. 

Survivors include her siblings Tim Bauer, Joani (Ralph) Brown, Patti Bauer, Lucy Greer, Barb (Craig) Nyreen, Peggy Bauer, Pam (Mark) McQuade, Katy (Bill) Forsling, John (Darla) Bauer, and Chad (Jenifer) Bauer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Tressie is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marybeth Howard, and brother-in-law, Mike Greer.
